Description: Tamao is an ascetic monk in training apprenticed to Mikihisa (Yoh's dad). She is very shy and introverted and has a huge crush on Yoh even though she knows it is a hopeless love since Anna was chosen to be his wife (but that doesn't stop her from dreaming ^_^). She tries to be helpful to the group with her divination skills, even though her prediction's aren't always correct. Tamao has been an apprentice to the Asakura's since she was four, and has always loved Yoh no matter what.

In the manga, she survives the car explosion that kills Lyserg and Jeanne by hiding behind Ponchi's *ahem* larger-than-normal private parts. She stands up to Anahol and promises to protect the fallen X-Laws and hold him off long enough for the others to arrive. Anahol tells her to run along and not waste her life. Only when she calls Tsukigumi weak does Anahol get angry and start to attack her. She is saved by Marco.
