Anna Kyouyama

• Fun Fact: Anna is the mascot of the Amori perfectural police. Hiroyuki Takei was born in Amori, as was Anna.

• Description: Anna is a type of spirit medium called an Itako. An Itako is a traditional Japanese village shaman. With her prayer beads, she can summon spirits from anywhere, even from the afterlife where normal shaman cannot reach. She is Yoh's fiancée in an arranged marriage. Anna's main goal is to become Shaman Queen and is determined to make sure that Yoh becomes the shaman king. Even though she doesn't show it, she loves Yoh very much. The dub never mentions her last name. It has been hinted that Anna is the reincarnation of the original Hao's mother, Asano-Ha. 

Anna was abandoned when she was very young because she was born with the ability to see into other peoples minds without willing to. She was found and adopted by Kino, so her birth date is unknown. Before she met Yoh, her mind reading powers, known as Reishi (soulsight), was one she could not control. So when she was around people, she would pick up negative emotions and because of this, she began to hate others and the hatred eventually manifested into an Oni (demonic ogre). Therefore, she avoided going out as much as possible, usually confining herself to her room. Eventually, Yoh saves her when the Oni manifests. In the end story of the manga, she has a son named Hana.
