| | X-Laws
The X-Laws are one of
the "three forces" in the Shaman Tournament. The other two are Hao's
group, and a Buddhist group called Grandhara, who only appear in the manga and,
like the X-Laws, are opposed to Hao's team.
The X-Laws were
originally founded by Marco and Luchist, who is now a follower of Hao's. Except
for Jeanne, Marco, and Lyserg, all X-Laws are ex-military. All X-Laws are given
Archangels by Jeanne when she feels that they are worthy enough and a true
believer in the X-Laws' cause.
|
Side Note & Something To Think About: The X's carried on their
shoulders is a similar practice to the People's Crusade of 1095 AD, where
crusaders wore an X shaped piece of cloth on their shoulders as well to
represent the memory of the heavy cross carried by Christ to Calvary. |
The X-Law teams consists
of:
X-I: Iron Maiden Jeanne,
Marco, and Lyserg
X-II: Denbat, Porf, and
Larch
X-III: Benstar, Cebin,
and Meene

A Kami (god) class shaman and leader of the X-Laws. She spends a majority of
her time in an iron maiden which keeps her in a constant near-death state, which
increases her power, and she only comes out when she is desperately needed. Her guardian ghost is originally called Shamash, but the name was
changed in the dub to Mash. Her
name is taken from Jeanne D'Arc. She is a French orphan that was found by Luchist and granted shamanic
powers. The anime states that she was a French country girl who received
divine revelations when she was praying in a Catholic church, and a cross of
light appeared and a voice said that the world was going to be destroyed
unless it was rid of an evil force, which is identified as Hao
She tends to see issues in black and white. |
| In
the manga, she is killed when Marco's car explodes, but is later brought
back to life by Sati, the leader of Grandhara. When Marco attempts to commit
suicide a second time, Jeanne stops him and tells him that when he took her
in when she was an orphan, he was and is Saint Michael to her. She also
teams up with Yoh and Hao to help stop the human invasion of Tokyo Island,
the site of the shaman fights. |

| In
the manga, Antel's brother (one of the Niles), Anahol, impales Marco when he
is driving his car with Lyserg, Jeanne, Tamao, and Manta. He survives and
his would heals because of "Lady Maiden's love" and he "recieved
Shamash's kiss when the car exploded. He destroys Anahol's oversoul and puts
a gun to his head demanding him to take him to Sati so he can revive Jeanne
and Lyserg, who were killed when the car exploded. Hao and some of his
followers appear and reveal that Sati was killed by Tsukigumi, so he can't
bring Jeanne and Lyserg back to life. Desprate, Marco askes Luchist if there
is another way to revive them, and Hao tells him that Faust, who mastered
the Tso Senji Ryakettsu, could. Marco transforms his angel into a Ferrari
Testarossa '92 Special sports car and tells Tamao to get in and informs her
that the oversoul would last long after his death. |
| He often mistreats
Lyserg for asking questions. |
| The
only surviving adult X-Law in the anime, but is killed by Luchist, his
former friend, in the last 3 chapters of the manga. |
| Denbat,
Porf and Larch commented on how Marco was a dictator rather than a leader
and believed that he is changing his ways. |

Larch went on a mission to kill Hao and were all killed in the process. |
| The
X-Laser revealed the location of the Shaman Fight to the world, so Hao
decided to finish things off and said that they (meaning investigating
authorities) would be surprised to find a deserted island with a stadium
full of bodies. |
| He
apparently had some form of feelings for Meene besides the teammate
relationship because he is furious when Luchist come to the X-Laws' ship and

X-Laws include:
|
Lyserg
Diethel |
| Hans
Reiheit- An exiled X-Law and the most dangerous with a furyoku level of 470,000,
with Hao's level at and even 300,000. His angel Azazel can only be
oversouled for 3 seconds, therefore, Reiheit cannot defeat Hao, who has the
ability to oversoul the Spirit of Fire for many times that. He is also the
keeper of the X-Laws' arsenal. Hans is known
for being extremely handsome. My mistake. he wasn't killed when his Oversoul
exploded. He eventually saves ___?___'s life and eventually proposes to him.
Needless to say, I think they live happily ever after. *sniff* It's no fair.
I liked Hans first! |
I've
noticed that almost all of the X-Laws were impaled. Other people in the manga
get impaled too. What's up with all the impalement? It must be the favorite
killing method.
