Series Finale: A Happy Ending?

On some Shaman King fan sites, I've noticed that some people thought that the ending was a rip-off because it was a cliffhanger and you don't know if Yoh won the shaman crown or not. Personally I thought the ending was pretty good, even though it was a cliffhanger. The good thing about cliffhangers is that you can make up your own ending, but most people don't like cliffhangers because they want a solid ending to the story. Not that I blame them, I for one would like to know what happens when the tournament starts up again.

My sister didn't like it and asked me if they would have anymore seasons. I told her that there won't be a next season because this was a series finale, but she was determined and told me that there had to be another season because they just can't suddenly stop like that. Au contraire, I told her they can end like that because this anime is different from others. Most other anime's have an almost predictable ending to where you can almost guess who comes out victorious in the end.

Take Yu-Gi-Oh! for example: in (almost) every dual Yugi/Yami fights, he always wins, no matter what. Every tournament he's in, he always wins, no matter what. It basically goes in a pattern. Sorry Yu-Gi-Oh! fans, but Yu-Gi-Oh! really needs a change in scenery. Even Yoh loses fights, but afterwards, he accepts his defeat after a little while of thinking it over and thinks of it as more training to get stronger. You can't get stronger by winning all the time and by losing you can learn from your defeat. Yugi/Yami always seems to take defeat hard and pines away about it for a while until he wins his next fight.

But in Shaman King, Hao basically wins, but thanks to his ego (and the vulnerable attack position he was in), he and the S.O.F gets cut in half:

SLICE!!

Yet another one of my weird Paint drawings.

Anyway; Yoh does, and doesn't win. Kinda like a win-lose/lose-win situation.

Read Momo-chan's response.
