Episode 46 The Dead Spirit of Tao Re-appearance of Gei Yin along with her two younger siblings. The dub decides calls Gei Yin & her siblings Ren's cousins. Originally, it was mentioned that Gei Yin was part of the Tao family, but it was never said how she was related to Ren (I'm going to call Gei Yin's siblings "The Siblings" since their names are not given. The dub has the siblings say that Gei Yin's dream of becoming a ballerina were crushed because of Ren, but they originally were afraid that Gei Yin would never get married (they thought she was too old, but Gei Yin is only 26). A big mistake that the dub makes is in the flashback when Gei Yin falls off the cliff in what looks like a run-of-the-mill mission, she claims that the Tao's enemies came searching for Ren and she led them away so he would be saved. Wrong! Wrong! Wrong! Originally it was the Tao family that drove her away, for what reasons I don't know. If you look at the 3 kyonshi's on the cliff, you can see that they are Tao zombies that Jun used against Yoh in episode 5. Yeah, I did look to see what the kyonshi's looked like, call me weird. Another big mistake the dub makes is when Ren is fighting Gei Yin and her siblings is when he unsheathes the so called "Sword of Thunder", he vows that he will win the shaman crown for the Tao family and return them to glory. The truth is, Ren couldn't care less. He hates his family and doesn't want anything to do with them and is wanting to win the shaman crown for his own sake. The text on the Jufu on Gei Yin's siblings kyonshis' partially survived Mr. Digital Paintbucket. Back to Episodes |
